AMBD, MAS mark first meeting by planting trees

IN COMMEMORATION of the first bilateral meeting between Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD) and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), a tree planting ceremony took place yesterday at the Berakas Forest Reserve.

The tree planting ceremony was officiated by the Managing Director of Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam, Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Rosli bin Hj Sabtu; and the Managing Director of Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Ravi Menon, who both planted a tree.

Prior to the tree planting ceremony, the morning activities started with a warm up session followed by a brisk walk around the forest reserve.

The ceremony is part of the programme of the inaugural bilateral meeting between AMBD and MAS.

Also present were the Deputy Managing Director of AMBD, Chong Fu Li and officials from Singapore.

The bilateral meeting between the monetary authorities of both countries discussed issues of mutual interest including further strengthening cooperation in currency management and supervision of financial institutions; collaboration in capacity-building; and the exchange of views on current financial issues.
