SCB’s Service Star Awards for top staff members

The Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) recently awarded its Service Star Awards to outstanding staff members for the third quarter of 2012.

This award is the highest accolade for individuals and project teams who have achieved excellence in service within the bank and country.

The winners will also progress on to compete with regional counterparts for the ultimate prize.

Lai Pei-Si, the CEO of Standard Chartered Bank, was at hand to present the awards, together with Chin Swee Len, Head of Service Quality & Reengineering and Phone Banking.

“It is extremely exciting to be able to recognise our staff’s achievements through these special awards. Strong and consistent service with a passion and the continuous efforts in improving the way we work are the qualities we continue to instil within all our staff.

“Their success in going above and beyond in delivering top-notch service exemplifies our commitment to service excellence,” said Lai Pei-Si.

“This particular award event is made even more exciting as the winners of the Team Category – the Current Account and Savings Account Opening Service Guarantee team also won the regional award, beating all the other teams from across the region.

“We are so proud of their achievement and congratulate them. Their efforts have made our 10-minute Account Opening Service Guarantee to our customers a reality,” added the CEO.

The Best Service Staff Award for Frontline was awarded to Jeffley Lee, Service Ambassador at the Manggis branch, while the Best Service Staff award for Support and Product was awarded to Jessica Chiam, Branch Operational and Services Manager.

The Best Service Staff Award for Team Category was awarded to the Current Account and Savings Account Opening Service Guarantee team which comprised Kam Boon Hau, Vincent Lim, Hoh Thian Chai, Henry Voon, Daniel Ang, Daniel Teo, Shirley Ang, Lim Geok Hung, Tan Ai Choo and Alice Ng.

SCB features these special awards to recognise top service-orientated staff as well as to encourage and motivate them to continue their outstanding performances.

Jeffley Lee stated, “I am truly honoured to receive this award. We have a strong service culture here at Standard Chartered Bank and are always listening to customers, understanding their situation and providing solutions.”

Jessica Chiam said: “Service excellence is important no matter where you are – frontline or support staff..

“To ensure we continue to deliver quality services, there are times when one needs to think outside the box for solutions to assist customers facing a unique solution.”

SCB aspires to become the best service-orientated bank in the Sultanate.

For this reason, it is important that the bank has its own award scheme to recognise, promote and reward excellence, professionalism and outstanding achievements in service.
