THERE was change at the top of Group B of the Uni Cup yesterday as ITB ‘B’ stormed to a second win in two games after they beat UNISSA ‘B,’ 3-0, yesterday afternoon.

An own goal in the first half gave ITB ‘B’ a 1-0 lead going into the break, and they extended their advantage shortly after the restart, with Ak Muhd Muez finding the back of the net in the 48th minute.

Mohd Sarif Mahmud rounded off the scoring in the 69th minute, which allowed for ITB ‘B’ to assume leadership of Group B on six points.

In the simultaneous kick-off at the Berakas Sports Complex, Brunei Polytechnic ‘B’ slipped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of ITB ‘A’.

Ruzaini Mahadi’s 29th minute opener for ITB ‘A’ was cancelled out by Hariz Amin with 65 minutes played.

However, Haneef Haji Shaminan scored ten minutes later to seal all three points for ITB ‘A’, and allowed for them to climb to the top of Group A on goal difference.

The night fixtures saw KUPUSB ‘B’ pick up their first point of the Uni Cup after holding UNISSA ‘A’ to a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere, UBD ‘B’ reignited their hopes of reaching the semi-finals with their first win coming against KUPUSB ‘A’, with a comfortable 3-1 score line.

The next Uni Cup fixture will see Brunei Polytechnic ‘A’ play UNISSA ‘B’ at the Berakas Sports Complex tomorrow. Kick-off is at 9pm.
