HANOI (Bernama) – Hungarian President Ader Janos arrived in Hanoi on Wednesday for a state visit, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.
Janos’ visit is at the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang and he is accompanied by wife Anita Herczegh, Hungarian Ambassador Torda Eszter and senior officials of the President’s Office.
Hungary attaches special importance to expanding relations with Vietnam as part of its Look East Policy.
Political relations have developed strongly in recent years through exchange of high-level visits.
Bilateral ties have seen positive progress with two-way trade in 2013 and the first eight months of the year reaching US$148 million and US$113.5 million respectively.
Janos’ visit is until Nov 30.
