SHE is physically-challenged but that did not deter the mother of one to battle the odds and attain what she aspired for. She received her graduation certificate from His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Hjh Ernie Suzana binti Hj Mohd Zin, 39, is wheelchair-bound.
She was one of the students who graduated at the 4th Convocation of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) yesterday in Syariah Religious Teaching course.
“The challenges that I faced while taking this degree course were enormous. The lectures that I attended could only be conducted at the ground floor of the classroom. But the lecturers understood my problem,” said Hjh Ernie, who has been suffering from kidney complications.
“I am very happy to complete this degree course, as it was physically challenging for me to attend classes. But with strong determination, I managed to pass with flying colours. Even when I was in pain, I managed to study,” she added.
“Prior to this, I taught at PAP Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah Religious School. And I intend to pursue my masters degree. I wish to thank my husband, parents and friends for their support,” she said.
