His Majesty arrives in Beijing for State Visit

HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen yesterday evening arrived in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, for a State Visit.

Present at Beijing Capital International Airport to greet His Majesty on arrival was Chen Xiaodong, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China.

Also present to greet His Majesty was Datin Paduka Magdalene Teo Chee Siong, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the People’s Republic of China.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was presented with a bouquet of flowers. His Majesty then walked past a static guard mounted by the People’s Liberation Army.

His Majesty then boarded a motorcade towards a renowned hotel in Beijing where His Majesty would be residing throughout the duration of the State Visit.

Diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and People’s Republic of China was established on September 30, 1991.

Since then, the two countries have enjoyed broadening cooperation in various areas such as trade and investment, energy, agriculture, defence, ICT, culture, air services, tourism, health and education.
