HER Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha yesterday consented to attend a Hi-Tea Reception hosted by the wives of Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries and other associated members in conjunction with Her Majesty’s birthday anniversary.
Accompanying Her Majesty at the ceremony were Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam.
Upon arrival at the Royal Berkshire Hall of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club, Her Majesty and members of the royal family were greeted by the Chairperson of the association, Datin Paduka Hajah Jahrah binti Haji Mohammad as well as spouses of the Cabinet Ministers.
Before proceeding to the main hall, Her Majesty consented to receive a bouquet of flowers, joined the rest for a group photo and was introduced to three new members of the association who are the wives of newly appointed permanent and deputy permanent secretaries.
In her welcoming address, Datin Paduka Hajah Jahrah, on behalf of the association extended her greeting on the occasion of Her Majesty’s birthday and wished Her Majesty good health and always be blessed under the protection of Allah the Almighty.
She added that in line with the objectives of the association in further fostering ties among their members, several programmes and activities have been conducted.
Among others, she continued, members of the association made a visit to the Agro-Technology Park in Tungku, took part in a bowling friendly match, religious activities such as Fardhu Kifayah classes, attended briefing on the Syariah Penal Code Order 2013 and many more.
In further extending their hand in helping the needy, the association, she added, provided humanitarian assistance for those who are in need such as contributing donations to the Tutong flood victims and landslide fund, making donations to the National Orphans Fund in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, donations to Pusat Bahagia, JAPEM and many more.
In this regard, Datin Paduka Hajah Jahrah thanked for and appreciated the support, cooperation and commitment that have been given by members of the association in making the activities and programmes meet their objectives.
The afternoon reception also saw Her Majesty consent to cut a birthday cake and receive a ‘pesambah’ from the association members.
The Hi-Tea Reception was enlivened by several religious performances presented by members of the association including Nasyid, Tausyeh and a Hijab demonstration.
Before leaving the ceremony, Her Majesty and members of the royal family consented to a Junjung Ziarah with the association’s members.
