HIS Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Deputy Sultan and General of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah yesterday attended a high-tea reception hosted by officers of the RBAF to celebrate the occasion of HRH the Crown Prince’s 41st birthday.
Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses at the event that took place at the Royal Brunei Navy Officers’ Mess in Muara Camp was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.
Their Royal Highnesses were greeted on arrival by the Commander of RBAF, Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah. This was followed by a group photo session with senior officers of the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) and RBAF.
The event also saw a photo clip presentation, and the Deputy Sultan was later presented with a photo book album entitled ‘Sejambak Ristaan VIII’, which featured a collection of photographs of HRH the Crown Prince’s visits to the Ministry of Defence and RBAF as well as military working visits abroad.
The Deputy Sultan later cut a birthday cake to mark the occasion and received pesambahs from the RBAF Commander, representing all of the RBAF officers.
The pesambahs comprised a leather bag dubbed ‘A General’s Briefcase’, a novel titled ‘Sultan Muhammad Al-Fateh, Conquest of Constantinople’ and a specially carved RBAF Leader Stick made from fine wood and iron from KDB Pahlawan which was decommissioned in 1974.
To bless the ceremony, a Doa Kesyukuran was recited by the Assistant Head of RBAF Religious Department (JA’MAAT), Captain Ariffin bin Amit.
At the end of the ceremony, the Deputy Sultan and HRH Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah received a “Junjung Ziarah” from the senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF. Before leaving the event, the Deputy Sultan signed a Royal Parchment to mark the visit.
