AS a sign of concern and sympathy, the Department of Schools of the Ministry of Education (MoE) presented donations to nine students who were affected by a fire involving four houses on January 28.
The fire that occurred in Kampong Setia ‘B’ affected some students studying at Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School, Pehin Dato Jamil Primary School and Lumapas Primary School.
The contribution was intended to help meet the needs of the students, especially during this difficult period.
Each student received a donation in the form of clothing, school supplies and hygiene products. The handover was held at Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School in Kampong Kasat.
Present as the guest of honour to hand over the donations was Haji Azis bin Haji Nayan, Senior Special Duties Officer at the Department of Schools, MoE.
The guest of honour also gave a brief speech to the students and their parents who were present.
