SIBU (NST) – The family of a state minister had a rude awakening when gunshots were fired at their residence in Jalan Ipoh yesterday morning.
This was the second time that the family of State Local Government and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh has been harassed with gun shots, where a similar incident had occurred in Aug last year.
In the 5.35am shooting, his son Datuk Andrew Wong was sleeping when he heard the sound of a gunshot coming from the second floor of the house.
Curious of what had happened, Andrew went up to the second floor of the house only to find nine bullet holes on the window and the walls of the house.
Andrew, 39, later lodged a police report over the incident.
The unidentified trigger-happy assailant had also aimed their targets at the printing plant of a local Chinese daily at the Sungai Antu Industrial Park.
The attack on Sin Hua Daily News’ printing plant occurred about 15 minutes before the first incident.
Nine bullet holes were also on the premise.
A police spokesman confirmed the incident but declined to elaborate.
