A BASIC course on guidance and counselling started on Saturday at the Counselling and Careers Section, Department of Schools for government officers.
It was organised by the Department of Schools and the participants are those who had been in service for three to five years at the administration, human resource development and management.
The course will run for 10 days and will be attended by 36 participants.
Ali Yusri bin Abdul Ghafor, Acting Head of Counselling and Careers, was one of the presenters yesterday.
According to the Counselling and Careers Section, the prime aim of the course is to provide knowledge of the skills of basic guidance and counselling to the participants so that they can use the skills in their work.
The core modules of the course include theoretical counselling, individual and group counselling skills, career counselling and stress reduction.
The presenters in the course are officers from the Counselling and Careers Section, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education.
