THE 3rd Brunei Toycon drew to a close yesterday with a reported strong response from toy hobbyists and vendors, as well as the public in general.
Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Haji Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad presented certificates of participation to the toy vendors at the closing ceremony held at the Youth Centre in the capital.
Prizes were also awarded to competition winners in the Gunpla, scale model cars and military kits categories.
Brunei Hobby Enthusiasts (BHE) representative Mohd Nasroul Hizam bin Haji Souyono said the competition saw some new faces this year, in addition to the regulars.
This clearly indicates there is hidden talent yet to be unearthed, he said, expressing hopes that this will encourage modellers to their creativity and skills, and at the same time promote healthy competition.
The Brunei Toycon was a collaboration effort by the Youth Centre and BHE, bringing together youths of various backgrounds to establish meaningful networks and even the possibility of entrepreneurial activities.
