SAYYIDINA Hassan Secondary School (SMSH) held a graduation ceremony for students in the Cohort 2 Pearson BTEC Level 2 Programme and Excellent Academic Awards 2014 presentation ceremony at the school’s multipurpose hall yesterday.
The guest of honour was the Head of Academic Unit in the Secondary Education Division, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education, Dyg Hjh Lena binti Mohammad Hasan.
According to the Principal of SMSH, Cikgu Norazizah binti Hj Md Salleh, the school has held several programmes in efforts to reach excellence such as target setting, fostering programme, early intervention programme, SBAfL Socialisation and SSR (Silent Sustained Reading) programme.
Cikgu Norazizah also said that the school has augmented the use of ICT in its pedagogical approach to create an ICT culture which aims to increase students’ skills and to prepare them for their future careers.
In her speech, the guest of honour congratulated the students who were receiving their Pearson BTEC Level 2 programme certificates and Excellent Academic Awards.
However, she urged the students to continue to aspire for greater results and not to be complacent in what they have achieved thus far.
She also urged the students, especially those who will be sitting for the O level examination, to set a very high target and encouraged them to aim for the top of the world, top in Brunei Darussalam or best across 8 subjects awards by the Cambridge International Examination.
