Seoul (dpa) – US Internet giant Google Inc and South Korean firm LG Electronics Inc announced a deal Wednesday to share access to each other’s new inventions.
The global patent licence agreement covered “a broad range of products and technologies,” the firms said.
It applies to all current patents, and new patents filed over the next 10 years.
“LG values its relationship with Google, and this agreement underscores both companies’ commitment to developing new products and technologies that enhance consumers’ lives,” said LG executive vice president Lee Jeong Hwan.
Google sealed a similar deal with LG rival Samsung, the world’s largest smartphone maker, in January.
