SIX students and two teachers yesterday left Brunei Darussalam for South Korea for the 6th Asean+3 Teacher Workshop and Student Camp for the Gifted in Science.
It starts today and ends on January 18.
They were handpicked by the Special Education Unit.
The students are Pengiran Nur’ Azeezah binti Pengiran Anak Hj Mohammed Al-Mokhtar (Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Yayasan Secondary School), Lim Ian Wei and Aisyah Farhanah binti Singpa@Abdul Maid (Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College), Muhammad Afif Ruzaini bin Muhammad Sofian (Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Secondary School), Ibrahim bin Hj Md Tussop (St Andrew’s School) and Yura Mohammed Adibillah bin Saifulrizal (Jerudong International School).
The teachers are Awang Huzaimi bin Hj Abd Kassim (Sports School) and Dayang Adlina Rahayu binti Hj Zaini (Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School).
The prestigious camp is jointly organised by Changwon Science High School and Asean+3 Centre for the gifted in Science (ACGS).
It will provide opportunities for students to share ideas and experience, developing the ability to carry out research and cultivate creativity in the field of science and technology.
It is also a platform for students from different countries to foster friendships and networking in the Asean+3 region.
The students will attend lectures and conduct experiments themed “Green Smart Home”.
There will also be team project presentations on the last day.
The two teachers will be trained to provide more variety in educational content.
The participating countries include Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and South Korea.
