GHK registered their second consecutive win in the veteran category in the Low San Brunei Open 2017 after cruising to a 78-66 win over Fitness Zone at the Brunei Basketball Association Court in Batu Bersurat last night.

GHK’s Kenny Lim notched a total of 23 points while Fitness Zone’s Vincent Superio knocked down 21 points in a losing effort.

The winning captain Lim Fung produced a contender for the best shot-making moves after bursting into the semi-circle before going for the kill following consecutive free throws by Liu Kun Shyong.

GHK never looked like conceding defeat midway into the third quarter as they looked to lock one in the bag against Fitness Zone who relied on the pace of Vincent.

Kenny was illegally blocked by an opposing player earning him a free throw and the player duly received the ball with interest and further extended their lead.

An advancing Kenny then picked up Liu Kun who made the lay-in in a nice combination play between the pair.

Fitness Zone hit on the counter after Bautista intercepted a pass and brought Vincent to play.

However, Fitness Zone could not muster enough points to get back into the game as GHK maintained their lead.

Kenny executed the ball fake which stirred a reaction for his opponent to move allowing him to find the perfect spot to nail a couple of points en route to victory.

The pair of Lim Fung and Chen Yiek Seng enjoyed respective treys to close out the victory.

Their second straight win consolidated their lead at the top of the six-member table in the preliminary rounds of the coveted Veterans Low San Shield.

Digimark sit in second place with now the quartet of Linktech, TK Teahouse, Concept GMT and Fitness Zone battling it out for one of the knock out stage berths.

The competition continues tonight with St Andrews School to take on El-Bombazo Buycour while heavyweights Juramas take on Hainan BSB in Group ‘A’.
