TASTE the most authentic cuisines from the Land of the Rising Sun at the ‘Taste of Japan’ promotion at Pantai Restaurant and Zen Pavilion of The Empire Hotel & Country Club prepared by legendary chefs from Daisyo Corporation.
Present to grace the ceremony was YAM Pg Anak Haji Abdul Wadood Bolkiah together with spouse Pg Seti Aminah Pg Othman.
Also present was Pierre Imhof, CEO of Baiduri Bank, who was the event’s official sponsor.
In his opening remark, Imhof welcomed the distinguished guests comprising Noriko Iki, Japanese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, and Shaikh Hj Fadilah bin Shaikh Hj Ahmad, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
In her speech, Iki revealed that this year marked the 30th anniversary of Japan and Brunei diplomatic ties and during this time, Japan has built a cooperative relationship based on mutual trust with Brunei in various areas.
“This Japanese food promotion is one of the events to celebrate the 30th anniversary year of the establishment of Japan-Brunei diplomatic relations. While I appreciate that we have built a trustful relationship for 30 years, I hope we can further strengthen and develop our ties in the field of cuisines culture,” Noriki Iki said.
A special group of chefs led by Masau Kajino, General Manager of Daisyo Cooperation, was flown from Japan to entice customers with a true culinary adventure in Japanese cuisine, showcasing meticulous skills in food preparation and selection of quality.
The promotion ends on November 17.
