THE Fuzhou Shiyyi Association of Brunei Darussalam, which was formed two years ago, has plans to have its own building and is continuously nurturing its youth members to become future leaders, the association’s President, Jackson Ting, said.
He made these remarks at a farewell dinner hosted for the outgoing Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam Zheng Xianglin last night.
Over 200 members of the association attended the farewell dinner, which was held at a restaurant in Gadong.
Jackson Ting also lauded the strong and long-standing ties between Brunei Darussalam and China, which was forged since the establishment of diplomatic relations 23 years ago.
He said the good relationship has contributed a lot to create a platform of convenience for business and trade, mutual development and friendship between both countries.
The association, which now has over 500 members and still growing in numbers, was started by a group of young and creative Fuzhou ethnics in Brunei Darussalam.
