YOUNG athletes of St Margaret’s School were in high spirits at a Mini Sports Day held at the school’s compound in Seria.
With more than 491 students ranging from Kindergarten to Year 3, yesterday’s event was organised not only to allow the students to compete in a friendly sporting event, but also to act as a platform in fostering better and stronger ties among themselves.
Eager parents and guardians were seen cheering for their children who took part in the various sporting activities.
Prizes were presented by the guest of honour, Simon Lee, Vice-Chairman of the school’s Board of Governors.
In a welcoming speech, Hasnah binti Haji Awi, Co-Chairperson of the Mini Sports Day, lauded the presence of the large number of parents and guardians who came to support their children for the various sporting events.
A sports oath was then read by the students led by Zafroul Zharfan bin Ady Zohaini from Year 3 Yellow.
Among yesterday’s sporting events were Skipping Rope Relay, Hula Hoop Race, Bottle-Fill Race, Zig-Zag Relay, High Five Relay and more.
