BALIK PULAU (NST) – A Form Two student of the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) suffered broken ribs after he was assaulted by a group of seniors at his hostel room on Wednesday.
The 14-year-old also suffered burns after the assailants were believed to have hit him using a hot iron.
Noraini Jusoh, 47, said her youngest son was traumatised and did not want to continue his studies at the boarding school.
“He is traumatised and did not speak much. The doctors confirmed that his heart was not injured and the broken bones will heal,” she told the New Straits Times when contacted in Klang. She said the alleged incident occurred between 11pm and 2.30am. She claimed that her son was not given immediate treatment as the warden did not answer calls made by her son’s friend.
“He was weak and went to sleep immediately. The warden only took him to the sick bay later in the day and I was informed at 6.30pm the same day. I could not get a ticket to Penang so I asked the warden to take my son to the Penang International Airport to return home.”
