A 21-YEAR-OLD foreign teacher, who was staying at a school hostel in Tutong District, was allegedly raped yesterday morning after the attacker tied up her roommate.
The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) confirmed the case and is investigating the 1.25am incident in which the suspect reportedly used a knife to threaten the victim, a Taiwanese teacher.
Two laptops, three mobile phones, a camera and a tablet computer were reported missing in the incident.
The school’s chairman, when contacted, told Bulletin that the matter has been reported to the RBPF for investigation.
Albert Huang, representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office to Brunei Darussalam, visited the victim and said the woman is recovering from her ordeal and in a stable condition.
“We are very concerned about the case and hope that the Royal Brunei Police Force will catch the perpetrator as soon as possible,” he said
The RBPF is asking the public to provide any information, which could help the police investigation, to the Tutong Police Station by contacting 2441406 or hotline 993.
