THE Postal Services Department has informed the public that following recent heavy rains, several vehicles and motorcycles at the Mail and Parcel Processing Centre, which were used to deliver letters were damaged.
The department apologised for the inconvenience caused and the delay in postal deliveries. In ensuring that its services to the public is not affected too badly, the department has rented motorcycles and additional vehicles to deliver letters to Gadong and Berakas.
The department is also taking similar steps to ensure prompt delivery of letters to Mukim Bokok in the Temburong District and several areas in Mukim Bangar. Efforts will continue to be made to ensure continuity in postal deliveries.
The department apologised further for damages caused to letters delivered in Gadong, Berakas and their surrounding areas, and said it will take steps to avoid further damage being caused to letters such as incorporating additional plastic packaging.
