“BEWARE of substandard cutleries,” was the advice one woman gave after a near mishap with a flimsy knife.
The woman, who opted to remain anonymous, lamented that she had recently purchased a $8 ceramic knife only to have the tip break off soon after.
“It is fragile and the sharp tip breaks easily,” she said, adding that a similar incident had happened to a friend.
“It really is unsafe to use,” she said, explaining that the broken part had ended up in the food.
“I pulled the broken tip out from my mouth in horror, before showing it to my friends. The product is defective and should be recalled,” she said.
The vendor who sold it to us did not apologise, and instead, kept promoting the product, she added.
