FOLLOWING its renovation, Baiduri Bank’s The Mall branch installed more ATMs at its premises to handle the increasing number of financial transactions carried out electronically. The bank also went through an upgrade to cater to those preferring face-to-face interaction.
Some of the first 11 customers of Baiduri Bank, who have been around with the bank since 20 years ago, were invited for the ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday to officially relaunch its branch at The Mall.
They were Dato Paduka Lim Beng Thai, Md Saruddin bin Haji Jumarali, Banny Liew Eng Hoon, Jolene Wang, Chang Ein Hong, Sng Teck Ann, Lim Wee Pang representing her mother Goh Siew Yok, Surin Lim representing Goh Swee Hin, Peng Yan Hoe, Tan Chin Wan and Wong Ah Chai.
Each of them received a token of appreciation from Baiduri Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Pierre Imhof, who also participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Imhof highlighted the history of The Mall’s branch, “This branch was first set up in 2004, and during that time, we were the first bank in Brunei with an in-mall branch operating seven days a week.
“Today, this branch is the busiest of all our branches and, like many other branches, it becomes necessary for us to upgrade our premises in order to serve our customers better.”
“Our new concept branches are redesigned to suit the market segment. The investments we are making to this branch will make for a more welcoming environment for our customers to carry out their banking transactions, which we believe, is the key to enhancing the overall customer experience.
“Like all of our branches, we offer a full range of banking products and services to cater to individuals as well as businesses. Our The Mall branch now features additional ATMs to cater to the growing number of customers who prefer to transact electronically. According to recent statistics, we can see more and more transactions being carried out electronically. At the same time, we have also upgraded our premises to cater to those that prefer face-to-face interaction. Free WiFi is also available for the comfort of our customers, as well as complimentary financial planning consultation.”
Chang Ein Hong of Chang Ein Hong Watch Dealer spoke of the reason that he joined Baiduri Bank 20 years ago. “Baiduri Bank is the first local conventional bank in Brunei. I have full confidence in the bank because I believe the bank will grow. Since the first day, Baiduri Bank has always been very supportive to my business as well.”
Following the launch, guests were taken on a tour of the branch premises by Alvina Chung, Regional Manager of the Brunei-Muara District branch and Vivi Rudynanissmah binti Haji Mahmud, Manager of The Mall branch.
Also present were Ti Eng Hui, Deputy CEO of Baiduri Bank; Andrew Young, Deputy General Manager – Operations Management Division, Diversification & Strategic Development; Haji Haliluddin bin Dato Haji Talib, General Manager of Baiduri Finance; Pengiran Azaleen bin Pengiran Dato Haji Mustapha, Head of Retail Banking and Branch Network; and senior executives from the bank.
