A fire broke out at the Cardiology Unit of RIPAS Hospital Monday morning.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the fire affected 12 treatment rooms. The firemen were able to put out the fire in 32 minutes.
Seven fire engines were rushed to the scene from four stations – BSB, Beribi, Berakas and Bomba Laut and Pelancaran Stations.
Following the incident, the Fire and Rescue Department has reminded that fire prevention in workplaces should be prioritised to ensure the system is in working order and to establish Fire Marshals to necessitate early action.
