A TOTAL of 28 local coaches involved in the country’s youth football coaching are currently participating in the FIFA/NFABD Youth Coaching Course for five days following the opening ceremony officiated by Awang Hj Mohd Zamri bin Dato Paduka Hj Hamdani, the General-Secretary of National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD).
The course is conducted by Lim Kim Chon, a FIFA instructor from Malaysia. The aim of the course is to increase the capability and capacity of coaches training youth teams in Brunei Darussalam.
The FIFA Youth Coaching Course will provide the local coaches a good insight and advanced information into youth coaching between the ages of 12 to 18 years old. It will help the coaches to understand the requirements needed to develop young players into potential professional/national players.
Awang Hj Mohd Zamri during an interview said: “This is yet another milestone for NFABD in youth programme. The youth coaching course is also a follow-up from the grassroots coaching course held in May this year.”
“This will be another step forward in youth football development in the country as the course is a good avenue to explore knowledge. We would like to thank FIFA for its support to the development of football in the country and I hope that the participants will made full use of the course to upgrade their knowledge,” he added.
Meanwhile, Lim Kim Chon in his speech highlighted to the participants on the need of high commitment and the right attitude in order to achieve success in coaching.
