A GOVERNMENT servant who faces four counts for graft was granted an adjournment in the case by the Bandar Magistrate’s Court.
Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Hj Abd Rahman extended Haji Othman bin Judin’s bail of $10,000 or in two local sureties after fixing further mention of the case on January 26, 2015.
DPP Christopher Ng informed the court that Haji Othman bin Judin, Special Duties Officer, with the Estate Management Unit, on the first count, allegedly accepted the supply and planting of ‘Zoysia Materella’ grass as part of the landscaping works carried out at his residence in Kg Perpindahan Lambak Kanan totalling just under $1,300 from KN Nursery (B) Sdn Bhd between June 2009 and December 23, 2012.
The second charge accused the defendant of accepting 19 sets of 23W CLF Bollard Light as part of landscaping works carried out at his residence totalling $3,800 from Ting Sii King Electrical Supplies Sdn Bhd (TSK Sdn Bhd) between June 2009 and December 26, 2012.
The third charge stated that the defendant allegedly accepted the supply and installation of underground cables, 19 concrete base and installation of 19 sets of 23W CLF Bollard Light as part of the landscaping work carried out at his residence totalling just under $1,600 from Everwide Darussalam Sdn Bhd between June 2009 and April 8, 2013.
The fourth charge alleged the defendant accepted architectural and structure plans for the renovation of his residence totalling $12,000 from Booty Edwards and Partners between June 2012 and March 2013.
All four parties are believed to be linked to Haji Othman’s official functions as a Special Duties Officer. No plea has been taken from the defendant who was represented by lawyer Evelyn Lee yesterday.
