THE Department of Staff Training and Development Unit with the cooperation of Alumni of Brunei-US English Language Enrichment Project for Asean and selected English language teachers conducted a three-day English Language Camp at the Berakas Forest Reserve.
Held from November 11-13, the camp saw the attendance of 43 students of secondary and primary schools from Brunei-Muara District and one primary school from Temburong District.
The camp featured various activities designed to improve the participants’ English language skills through team work and good communication training.
Kamaluddin Haji Ahmad, from the 1st cohort of the Brunei-US English Language Fellows (ELFs), who was also the vice-chairperson of the camp, said that this event was designed for the alumni to share their knowledge and experiences during their previous attachments such as in the 10-month fellowship attachment in the different Asean countries or in the 11-week training in Universiti Brunei Darussalam and East West Centre Hawaii, United States of America.
The camp also aimed to train the members of the alumni in managing a programme.
