TWO foreign workers were issued with special passes to be further investigated after they were found to be abusing their social visit passes and working at a restaurant in Jln McKerron, Kuala Belait, in a raid which involved six immigration enforcement personnel. One of them was found to be the head at the restaurant’s kitchen and the other worked as an engineering consultant in the hotel industry. The owner of the restaurant has also been issued a summons.
In another raid involving 14 immigration enforcement personnel at a rented house in Jln Petai, Kuala Belait, six foreign workers were issued special passes for investigation and further action. One worker was found to be involved in obscene activities and two others were found to have abused their long-term social visit passes.
The Law Enforcement Division under the Immigration and National Registration Department said it will continue to conduct enforcement activities and reminded employers and foreign workers to adhere to the immigration act and regulations.
The department welcomed the public for giving information in relation to immigration offenders by contacting its hotline at 8753888 or 8734888 and said any information would be kept confidential.
