BRUNEI’S newest education services agency, Findlay (B) Sdn Bhd, will be hosting its first Study Fair on February 16, a press release stated.
The fair, featuring UK universities and colleges represented by Findlay, will be held at its recently renovated and expanded office premises in Block E, Abdul Razak Complex in Gadong.
Findlay’s Director, Sunita Martin said, “Based on students’ feedback and suggestions, we are offering a dual system of both pre-booked priority appointments as well as drop-ins. In this way, the flow of visitors will be much smoother and result in minimal waiting times.”
In keeping with their holistic approach to student services they recently launched Personal Development Programmes. Findlay is now offering a choice of Morrisby career profiling services provided both by themselves and Ann Lord, a Career Development Facilitator based in Brunei. Students who need help deciding their A-level choices, degree studies or future career paths, can choose between a premier 3.5 hour group assessment session for $180, or a 90 minute group online assessment for $120, both of which come with feedback sessions.
The Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council will have a booth at the UK Study Fair to answer any related student enquiries, and there will be door gifts and Findlay registration prizes as well.
Another unique feature is that Findlay will be following up their fair with individual university information seminars for interested students and their parents to provide a more detailed picture of the university, its admissions processes and other key information. The seminars will be held in the evenings, with refreshments provided and a prayer room being made available to anyone who may wish to use it.
The universities represented are University of Portsmouth, University of South Wales, Southampton Solent University, University of Wolverhampton, Writtle College, Kingston University, Arts University Bournemouth, University of Winchester, Bradford College and Bournemouth & Poole College. All the institutions offer a wide variety of programmes, some of which are suitable for ‘O’ level holders, and cover a range of entrance requirements. Students who have their academic transcripts as well as their personal statement may be able to obtain offers on the spot.
Students who have just received their exam results and are now considering their higher education choices may not realise the significance of their decisions. Their choices will have far-reaching consequences affecting their careers and potentially their entire adulthood. It’s vital, therefore, that students understand what and who they are in terms of their strengths, aptitudes and interests, and make fulfilling and rewarding study and career choices, the press release said.
Findlay consultants provide students with free advice and guidance in all aspects of overseas higher education, and is accredited by the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council.
