A DRUG offender has succeeded in his appeal to lower his sentence as the Court of Appeal knocked off 10 months from the appellant’s sentence of six years imprisonment and five strokes of the cane.
Representing the appellant Teo Boo Min, lawyers Roy Prabhakaran and Evelyn Lee said one of the imprisonment sentences of a charge should have been passed concurrently with another charge considering mitigating factors of the case.
Teo Boo Min pleaded guilty to possession of tablets containing four grammes of MDMA drug for trafficking, possession of 20 tablets containing of 0.7703 grammes of MDMA drug, consumption of MDMA, consumption of meth and possession of Ketamine containing 58.7 grammes of crystalline substances.
The Justices of the Court of Appeal allowed the reduction so as to be fair in regard of the overall criminality and totality principle of the offences.
