THE issuance of free tickets has been confirmed by DPMM FC in their home league tie against Warriors FC in the S League on Tuesday (Oct 7) at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
Following news of an exposed letter directed to Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) that went viral in social media, the current S League leaders have called a plethora of supporters to flock the stadium in their push for the coveted league title.
DPMM FC Team Manager Ali Hj Momin said that the free tickets will be issued at the gates per entry as opposed to the normal payment methods at match games.
The club has also confirmed that tickets will be distributed on match day after the Maghrib prayers.
Ali encouraged local support for a crucial match in the race for the title which could see Warriors FC pegged back and perhaps end their own title dreams with a home win.
Ali told the media that the home crowd act as the 12th player and could significantly help them to boost their performance.
“They will not recognise tiredness or fatigue with the backing of a huge crowd cheering them on and providing moral support. The fans will carry them through and the players in turn will react with their mental strength in a game of such magnitude,” Ali said when met at the Jerudong Mini Stadium yesterday.
Ali added that there will be more than 10,000 people to support them.
Warriors FC shock defeat to Balestier Khalsa has given Tampines Rovers not only the chance to overtake them in second place but also give them as closest challengers to DPMM FC who they trail by three points.
A win against Warriors could put DPMM FC in the brink for the first ever league championship but they are 90 minutes away of achieving a defining moment in their S League campaign.
Normally, match games attracted a capacity of more than 5,000 people but lately DPMM FC matches have seen a dip in crowd attendance.
“Our purpose for the free tickets is to get the crowd going. If we win this game, it will push other teams further behind,” Ali added.
