TENVIEW (B) Sdn Bhd will be working closely with Malaysian director Brother Hud for their upcoming Malay drama series called “Ku Sandarkan Kepadamu” which has begun shooting in Brunei (scheduled from February 8 until March 25, 2015).
In a press conference held yesterday at Tarindak D’Seni Restaurant, for which producer Nasha Hassan was also present, Brother Hud revealed that their new series will tell the story of Rabiatul and her challenging life, having to look after her mother Fatimah who suffers from severe post-natal depression, as well as her grandmother who is growing old.
The story will also revolve around Rabiatul’s brother who is studying under a scholarship at Universiti Brunei Darussalam but who sends his scholarship allowance back to his family to assist them.
Although put under pressure, and juggling part-time work and his studies, he is helped in his struggles by college mate Aisyah, who secretly admires his determination.
The drama will star local actors Izzati Mahali as Rabiatul, Reena Haji Md Yassin as Fatimah and Rabi’atul Adawiyah Abdullah as Aisyah, as well as Malaysian counterparts Aripah Damanhuri as Halimah, Amaris as Umar and Faiez Affandi as Qayum.
Brother Hud also shared that shooting has so far gone smoothly while the cast and crew, comprising both Bruneians and Malaysians, was a good blend of the two cultures and will surely prove to be a memorable experience for all.
He concluded by saying that he hopes the emotional drama will be aired on Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) as it has a very important message – such as how the main character persists and refuses to fall prey to moral decay despite enduring hardships.
