A DINING in the Dark event was hosted by Fun Bee Park, along with IA Salon, Sorriso Restaurant and Pizzeria, last night.
The event, participated by 28 people who ate completely blindfolded, aimed to give the public an insight into the world of the visually impaired.
The blind dining event aimed to raise funds for the Yayasan Kanser Kanak – Kanak (YASKA).
The treasurer and secretary of YASKA, Tsara Nawwarah Abdullah Chen, was grateful to the organisers and members of the public who donated to the cause.
Musician volunteers from Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind then shared inspiring words with the diners.
Chef Salvo of Sorisso Restaurant along with his wife and team briefed the diners on the meal of the night.
Hye Chin, a member of YASKA, presented a mock cheque of $5,000.00 from IA Salon, Fun Bee Park, and Sorisso Restaurant, to the organisation.
The food was prepared by Sorisso Restaurant and Pizzeria.
The event also aimed to spread awareness on cancer and preventive measures.
Cecilia Lee, director and creative manager of IA Salon and Fun Bee Park, expressed her gratitude to all supporters of the event.
“It was a wonderful night of the best tasting cuisines, good music, inspiring stories, and great sharing; we hope that we don’t stop on giving love without expecting a return.”
