DES School recently held a Primary Year-End Performance with a theme “Nurturing Tomorrow’s Leaders”. The programme started with an Opening Prayer by Cikgu Sufrin bin Haji Kalong, followed by the singing of the national anthem and DES School song.
In his welcoming remarks, Bahrein bin Haji Abu Bakar, the school’s Principal, said, “From what I can judge through my interactions with our children this year, there are definitely quite a number of future leaders among them; their ability to be able to stand up and state what they want to do when they grow up.”
He further added, “I can see the strength in their statements, I also know that with whatever path they choose later, they will have the correct foundation to be able to see it through until they achieve their goals.”
A total of 300 pupils participated in the event which comprised dancing and drama performances.
The highlight of the event was when the Year 6 pupils presented flowers to their parents as a way of thanking and showing them their appreciation.
A graduation ceremony also took place the same day to mark the completion of the school’s Year 6 students.
Sixteen Year 6 students and two students with special needs received certificates, which were handed over by the principal, and assisted by Dk Rinawati binti Pg Ramli, Deputy Principal 1, and Hajah Siti Norkhalbie binti Haji Yusmalek, Deputy Principal 2.
