DEPUTY Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awg Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof is currently in Singapore under Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Distinguished Visitors Programme (DVP), which runs from February 2 to 6.
The DVP, started in June 2005, invites outstanding foreign dignitaries to Singapore to help forge closer bilateral ties and foster mutual cooperation.
During his visit, Pehin Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi will call on Deputy Prime Minister, Co-ordinating Minister for National Security, and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean; Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam; Minister for Manpower Tan Chuan-Jin; and Minister for Culture, Community, and Youth and Second Minister for Communications and Information Lawrence Wong.
He will also be hosted to meals by Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing; Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs Masagos Zulkifli; and Parliamentary Secretary for Health and Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Faishal Ibrahim.
Additionally, Pehin Dato Haji Halbi will visit and exchange views with various agencies and community organisations. These include the Ministry of Social and Family Development, National Parks, Prisons, Civil Defence Academy, and MENDAKI.
Also scheduled are visits to Chong Pang Community Club and Tampines West Community Centre.
