A TOTAL of $57,374.57 was collected from the HEART Charity Night Cycle, Walk and Run 2014 which was held last week. This was revealed during the HEART Humanitarian Charity Dinner held last night at the Orchid Garden Hotel.
The guest of honour was Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Datin Paduka Hajah Adina binti Othman.
The dinner commenced with a welcoming remarks by Simon Tiong, the Secretary-General of HEART where he expressed his appreciation to the sponsors and supporters. He mentioned that the organisation was set up to facilitate humanitarian relief for victims of natural calamities and to support the unfortunate groups such as the needy and the poor by providing them with monthly groceries.
The event then saw a presentation of a token of appreciation to the guest of honour. The dinner was held along with lucky draws, and presented pennants of which were given out to the supporting government agencies, private sector, contributing individuals and all volunteers involved in the humanitarian charity drive.
HEART also handed wheelchairs donated by CfBT to HEART patients through representatives from both RIPAS Hospital and JPMC.
