THE Department of Islamic Studies at the Ministry of Religious Affairs yesterday held a nationwide religious programme for the month of November with the main focus of the event taking place at Arabic schools in all four districts.
The religious programme aimed to produce religious educated individuals especially among the school children as well as adopting Islamic teachings to be part of their daily routine.
The religious programmes also aimed to instil the understanding of Islamic knowledge, strengthen the appreciation of Islam as a way to nurture Aqidah not only among students itself but also in the community.
In the Brunei-Muara District, the religious programmes were focused at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD).
The event was also held simultaneously at the Hassanal Bolkiah Male Arabic Secondary School, Sungai Akar Arabic School and Arabic Preparatory School in Bandar Seri Begawan.
At SUAMPRIPAD, the ceremony began with recitation of Tazkirah led by a Year 10TL student, Dayang Nur Farahiyah binti Haji Awang.
It was then followed with a Tausyeh performance by a group of Year 10 students and a reading of Doa for their upcoming examination and Doa Peliharakan Sultan led by Nur Faizah Mohd Khairul Azmi.
Present at the ceremony was the Deputy Principal (Administration), Ustazah Hajah Rosnah binti Mat Taha and Deputy Principal (Academic) Ustazah Sarimah binti Haji Ahmad along with teahcers and students from Year 7, 8, 9 and 10.
Meanwhile, in the Tutong District, the religious programme was held at Mahad Islam Brunei, Arabic School in the Belait District and Arabic Preparatory School in the Temburong District.
