FLOODING – caused by the recent unrelenting bout of downpour – in various flood prone areas like Kg Rambai has subsided.
The water levels in Kg Rambai peaked at 0.78 level while it was 0.3 in the other areas.
However, due to improved weather conditions yesterday, the flood water in the affected areas has subsided, said Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Tutong District Officer.
“Personnel from the Tutong Distict Office yesterday went around the areas to monitor the situation and found no more flooding.”
Concerned about false claims being circulated in the social media, he said, “We want to advise the public, especially people who do not live at the affected areas, not to spread rumours.”
“If they are unsure about anything, members of the public are welcome to contact the Tutong District Office.”
He added that there is no need for a Command Post yet.
The district office will continue to monitor the weather pattern and the situation on the ground.
