A 37-YEAR-OLD Indonesian man will learn his fate on December 24 after he pleaded guilty to Criminal Breach of Trust (CBT) in the Bandar Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Magistrate Azrimah Rahman will consider punishment for Saikoni, a delivery man at Daily Express Forwarding, who admitted to taking a smartphone from the company’s cargo delivery package.
DPP Dk Nurul Pg Rosli informed the court that Saikoni committed the offence sometime in the afternoon of November 15.
The defendant was to drop of a cargo package at the cargo services in Berakas.
The properly sealed box was attached with an invoice stating the contents, one of which was a Samsung Galaxy Note II, belonging to a Chinese man, to be delivered to his friend in the Philippines.
The Chinese man realised the phone never reached his friend in the Philippines and lodged a complaint.
Daily Express Forwarding was investigated and the Chinese man lodged a police report on tracking down the phone using a GPS tracking system installed on the phone.
The defendant was arrested and the phone was recovered.
