KOTA KINABALU (Bernama) – The Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines – East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Business Council (BEBC) board of directors has appointed Datuk Roselan Johar Mohamed as new chairman for a three-year term starting Jan 9.
Datuk Roselan is the chairman of the BIMP-EAGA Malaysia Business Council (BEMBC).
In a statement yesterday, BEBC said Datuk Roselan took from Pengiran Yura Kesteria bin Pengiran Setia Negara Pengiran Mohd Yusof from BEBC – Brunei Darussalam, who had served the council from 2012.
Sabah State Economic Planning Unit Principal Assistant Director for Regional Development, Wendy Pang, witnesseed the ceremony to hand over the duty.
Datuk Roselan said he hoped to visit the chambers of commerce in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan and in the region, including the other trade associations, to collect information and data on trade with the neighbours.
“They can raise issues or make suggestions and we will bring up their concerns at the meetings,” he said.
