THE Dapur Muslimah programme ended on Wednesday with the presentation of certificates to the young participants by the guest of honour, Awg Hj Mohammad Rosfazilah bin Hj Yusly, Acting Head Officer of Youth and Sports, the Department of Youth and Sports.
Twelve girls between 14 and 16 years of age completed the two-day course organised by the department and facilitated by three skilled personnel – Diana Hj Alias (Programme Secretary of Dapur Muslimah), Dyg Rohaya Hj Lamit and Sabbrenna Md Yunus.
The programme secretary said that course was aimed at creating awareness of independency in the way of Muslimah as well as thinking in a more positive manner.
This, she added, will encourage the participants to think more effectively about their future careers, especially entrepreneurship.
They learnt various cooking recipes in a designated kitchen that had a chicken grill as well as preparing local delicacies such as Onde-onde, Tapak Kuda and Cornflake Nutella.
It also marked the first time that the concepts of kitchen activities and cooking were incorporated into the Muslimah youth programme.
