THE Times Square mall was abuzz with cultural activities yesterday as a ‘Cultural Migration’ exposition was organised and facilitated by the Arts and Culture Department under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The half-day event, which took place in the heart of the commercial building complex in Berakas, showcased several live performances and interactive activities for the public to participate in that were centred on traditional Bruneian values which were incorporated into dance, music and clothing.
With active participation from spectators, the work-day did not hinder the flow of patrons, many of whom, especially students from institutions across the country, took the time to become better acquainted with those performing the demonstrations.
The event is held annually in every district and yesterday’s Brunei-Muara performance was the conclusion of a tour for this year.
Events have already been planned for next year and Brunei’s youth are encouraged to explore and take part in activities that are being scheduled by the department during the school holidays.
