His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, who is also Chairman of DPMM FC, yesterday joined the DPMM squad as well as club management and backroom staff for an official team photo at the Jerudong Mini Stadium yesterday.
Also in the team photo was YAM Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim Pengiran Indera Mahkota Pengiran Anak (Dr) Kemaludin Al-Haj, Vice-Chairman of DPMM FC.
His Royal Highness also interacted with the players, including recently signed defender Brian McLean.
The newly assembled DPMM FC team stepped up their preparations ahead of the new season with a morale-boosting 4-1 friendly win over the U-23 national team.
The club’s marque signing and former Premier League player Craig Fagan scored twice in his first outing since putting pen to paper alongside fellow imports Brian McLean and Rafael Ramazotti.
Fagan, who has scored against both the Manchester clubs, is new to Asian football.
He was a mainstay during former gaffer Phil Brown’s spell at the Yorkshire club at a time when former Liverpool player Nick Barmby was in the twilight of his career and former Manchester City ace Geovanni playing in his prime years.
The 32-year-old was all aware how far the club progressed last season and was determined to help his new employers create history by winning the league.
Meanwhile, DPMM FC defender Haji Md Subhi Abdillah has pulled out from the team, according to the team’s manager Ali Hj Momin.
The 2014 S League runners-up has filled the vacancy by snapping up former MS ABDB goalkeeper Md Suhandi bin Awg Hj Mahali.
Fan favourite Shahrazen Said, who was heavily linked with a move to Perak at the end of last season, has returned to the club.
