THE Managing Director of China Railway Construction Company Malaysia Berhad (CRCC), Andy Zhao – who is in Brunei Darussalam as part of an introductory visit – made a courtesy call on the Minister of Development, Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, at the Ministry of Development recently.
Earlier, Andy Zhaoh, who was accompanied by Datuk Seri Dr Suleiman bin Mohammad, Hj Mahadee bin Hj Dollah and Kevin Zhang, made a courtesy call to the Chief of Economic and Commercial Office at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam, Fang Jiawei.
The visit by Andy Zhao was to express CRCC’s interest in exploring a working collaboration on major infrastructure projects with Brunei by outlining their commitments and capabilities in the region.
CRCC Malaysia Berhad is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CRCC in Beijing, representing CRCC to handle and operate all engineering business ventures in Southeast Asia.
CRCC ranked 80th in the Fortune Global 500 companies in 2014 and ranked first among the top 250 global contractors in 2013. During a joint meeting with media representatives from Southeast Asia at CRCC Headquarters in Beijing recently, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CRCC, Meng Fengchao, mentioned that the company had submitted their bids for the construction of a bridge linking the Temburong and Brunei-Muara Districts across Brunei Bay, along with other local and international contractors participating in the tender to build the bridge.
Present during the courtesy call were the Permanent Secretary (Technical & Professional) and Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Development, Dato Paduka Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Ghafar and Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin respectively.
