KUALA LUMPUR (NST) – A masseur who tried to kill himself over a broken relationship was jailed six days and fined RM1,500 by the magistrate’s court yesterday.
Loh Chin Long, 22, was charged with attempting to commit suicide by lying on a railway track of the Cheras light rail transit (LRT) station.
Magistrate Saifulakmal Said passed the sentence to Loh after he pleaded guilty to the charge that was read to him in Mandarin.
He also pleaded guilty to a second charge of trespassing the same railway track by ignoring the order of officer in charge Mohamad Hafsan Che Ismail.
Loh had committed the offences at the Cheras LRT Station, Cheras here at about 1.50pm on Oct 14.
Saifulakmal sentenced the accused to six days jail for each offences and ordered for the jail sentences to run concurrently.
He also fined the accused RM1,000 in default two months jail for the first offence and RM500 in default a month’s jail for the second offence.
