I WOULD like to highlight some issues with regards to EDEXCEL Programme that is being run in secondary schools.
The first group had problems with their ‘Introductory to Certificate’ as the issued certificates were requested to be given back to the Department of Schools and promised to be reissued with a correct one. In the end, the same faulty certificates were given back.
The certificate of the ‘Extended Progr-amme’ was much more well organised but the certificates took a considerable time to be issued.
The second group faced a grimmer situation as no certificates were given. They finished midyear of 2013 and until now there is no word indicating that they will be issued with their certificates.
Schools when approached said that this was beyond their control. When officers from the Department of Schools were contacted, they gave a number of excuses and blamed the teachers instead.
They even informed that the Ministry of Education will issue the certificates (interesting). There are people saying that Group 3 and Group 4 are also facing the same difficulties.
I hope the relevant department could clarify.
