MY children have been schooling at Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar (SMPJN) for the last three years.
I have on numerous occasions shared my concerns about the cleanliness of the school’s toilets. Some toilets are damaged (valves with no handles).
When I brought this matter up with teachers during the end-of-year parent-teaching meeting, their response to me was: “Budget cuts”.
We are talking about basic cleanliness. Can’t the school or ministry do something about this?
According to teachers, these were the work of vandals. Is it fair to let 95 per cent of “good” students pay for the crimes of the five per cent?
I sincerely hope the relevant authorities would look into this matter as soon as possible.
