COMMANDER of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit, his spouse, Datin Sakdiah binti Haji Mohammad Noor and delegation made a three-day introductory visit to Singapore from September 30 until October 2.
During the visit, the Commander of RBN made separate courtesy calls to Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Defence Singapore, and Rear Admiral Lai Chung Han, Chief of Navy, Republic of Singapore Navy. Upon arrival at the Ministry of Defence, the Commander of RBN inspected the guard of honour.
First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abdul Aziz visited the Command and Control (C2) Centre in Changi, where he toured the Multi-National Operations and Exercise Centre and the Information Fusion Centre. The commander also toured the newly established Regional HADR Coordination Centre in the C2 Centre.
The visit concluded with further tours to Singapore Navy’s Maritime Training and Doctrine Command and the Naval Warfare Simulation Centre. Later in the evening, the Commander RBN and his wife attended a dinner hosted by the Singapore Chief of Navy.
The visit aimed to further strengthen the special long-standing friendship and bilateral ties between the two navies, and countries in general. RBN and the Singapore Navy enjoy strong defence cooperation through a wide range of interactions and activities such as bilateral exercises, regular visits and professional exchanges.
