WITH Chinese New Year fast approaching, on February 19, Royal Brunei Catering (RBC) through Dynasty Restaurant and Emperor’s Court is set to roll out its delicious Prosperity Yee Sang and Chinese set menu to celebrate the occasion.
These dishes are good enough that dinners at Dynasty Restaurant have already been fully-booked for three days running from February 18-20 for dinner. The Chinese New Year promotion is only available for 16 days starting on February 18 and ending on March 5.
For those with healthy food on their minds, some of the dishes included in the Chinese set menu such as healthy steamed herbal duck, braised sea cucumber, dried oyster with mushroom and broccoli, and double boiled chicken soup with ginseng, will undoubtedly satisfy their palates.
According to Chef Chong Keen Wai of Dynasty Restaurant, “We use the finest ingredients to make sure that the dishes are of the highest quality.”
He cited the example of the double boiled chicken soup with ginseng and fried seafood where the ginseng used is imported from Korea and that it took a whole day to prepare the soup to get the texture and flavour just right.
Chef Chong shared that he spent more than a year planning and testing various dishes in order to come up with this year’s dishes.
Also, the Prosperity Yee Sang comes with a selection of abalone, lobster, pacific clam, shredded and roasted duck, jelly fish, salmon and an assortment of vegetables.
Both the Chinese set menu and Prosperity Yee Sang are also available for diners to order for take away.
Meanwhile, Chef Lam has prepared dim sum for the festive season, with popular dishes that include the prosperity fa cai siew mai, wealthy fa cai fish ball, Chef Lam’s special pan fried carrot cake, steam chicken with dried oyster, and steamed golden little pumpkin dumpling, just to mention a few.
According to Chef Lam, “The special Chinese New Year dim sum will only be available during the festival. It was very popular last year and we decided to bring back the dim sum again.
Separately, RBC through Anjung Saujana and Cilantro will also see a Yee Sang promotion and special dinner buffet with a Hi-tea buffet during Chinese New Year, where the set comes with three different choices – gravlax, salmon and vegetarian.
Anjung Saujana and Cilantro will open its doors to patrons for the special buffet and Hi-tea buffet on February 18-19, and interested members of the public can contact the respective restaurants for reservations.
